When the market square is dominated by such a majestic cloth Hall and other attractive buildings it is no wonder that it is surrounded by a large variety of bars and restaurants

This place looks dope with all the lights after the Menin Gate Ceremony. All the gothic buildings and beer make this one slick op. PS, the last bar near the Menin Gate stays open late as most of the places shut down around 11.

Busy bustling square, typically surrounded by cafes and shops as in many European countries. Excellent Museum and a great place to sit and "people watch" and of course sample the refreshments of the cafes.

It is a lovely area and when you see the bombed out photos to current day you have to be amazed at the recreation of the market square.

When we arrived in Ieper, there was a funfair set up on the market square, bit of a shame as it detracted from the buildings that are in the area, like the cloth hall. Nice place to visit.

If you arrive before 6 p.m. you should be able to find a place at the Market Square or in nearby streets. After that parking is free and it is more difficult to find a free spot. Payment is in advance in parking automat. I... More
