This is a beautiful square in the great traditions of Belgium. The buildings and architecture are truly impressive especially when floodlit at night.

We went to pay our respects to my fathers Uncle, his name is on the building on the Menin Gate, we had been advised to be there before 6 O'clock, which we were. Previously we went to a cafe called the Best Burger in Tow,...More

A beautiful market square, rebuilt following its total devastation, home to the Cloth Hall and St Martin's Cathedral and lots of architectually authentic buildings. A thriving square with lots of history.

Plenty of great places to see, eat and drink in this area. Fantastic old buildings surrounded the square and the local people are very welcoming indeed. Loads to see and do so give it a try!

And what’s not to like about an historic market place in s small Belgium town? Lots of restaurants and cafes and LOTS of history.

The square represents a marvellous work of restoration and it is well nigh impossible to believe that one hundred years ago this area was a wasteland of rubble.

Heart of the City where the cobblestone main square is lined with many restaurants. Either eat in or sit outside with a drink and study the buildings around with their fine architecture.

If you arrive before 6 p.m. you should be able to find a place at the Market Square or in nearby streets. After that parking is free and it is more difficult to find a free spot. Payment is in advance in parking automat. I... More
