- yvonne d14 contributionsDoing! What a super fun outing this was. Our son (12) is a real outdoor child, so he enjoys every blade of grass. An adventurous walk that I, as a somewhat unsportsmanlike mother, sometimes found quite exciting/tough (this caused quite a bit of hilarity among the men), but what a beauty and how nice to be able to have a drink halfway along the Lesse. Entrance was 15 euros, 3 drinks 10 euros and a memory for life! We were there for about 2.5 hours.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 May 2024
- KrdwnReims, France125 contributionsA beautiful walk with regular points of interest on the routeA magnificent half-sun/half-shade hike (very appreciable) with points of interest to discover throughout the hike, viewpoints, caves, reconstituted thermal baths,.... in short we enjoyed this moment. A few benches are arranged on the course to make poses. To counterbalance certain reviews: A few passages may be problematic in rainy weather. But with hiking shoes and teenagers, we didn't feel worried at any time: the course is very well maintained. We also met many young children.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 August 2024
- Auke VKortrijk, Belgium59 contributionsSo beautiful!Incredibly impressed by this beautifully maintained nature reserve. There is a constant variety in the landscape, beautiful viewpoints, impressive caverns ... Our boys of 4 and 6 didn't even realize they were going for a walk, they were always curious about what was hidden behind the next corner. The entrance fee is certainly reasonable (and with a teacher card you get a discount!) and the drinking and dining facilities halfway add value!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 22 August 2024

Magnificent natural settings and impressive cliffs. A good part of the walk (1/3) is precisely the descent of one of these cliffs by a very uneven staircase and especially slippery in rainy weather. The railings could do with a good renovation in some places. This makes this walk dangerous and I would not recommend it for people with difficult mobility or with small children. I understand that dogs are prohibited, I would not like to do this descent with a dog who does not obey perfectly.

An excellent park with lots to see and do. A 4-km loop hike takes you through all the attractions, including ruins from different periods, many caves (some of which you can crawl into to see stalagmites), the beautiful forest and the river. With many stops along the way it took us nearly 3 hours.

What a great hike! Very surprising and fun to do. It took us 2.5 hours and took breaks to explore the area. There is so much to see. Just to be safe, wear walking shoes because some of the stones can be a bit slippery!

Magnificent place where nature is preserved and calm is required. A real breath of fresh air!! Exceptional caves and chasms, splendid landscape and many panels with explanations on the history of the place and the surrounding nature. To do absolutely

Great park with rich and varied bird life, historic ruins and very interesting historical features.
You’ll need decent boots fir the walk, it’s not far but the terrain is a little rough at times. About half way around the loop there is a wee cafe, very funky!

Very good hiking experience. Be sure you have good hiking shoes and better to reserve your tickets online. Amazing view from the cliffs. Nice little restaurant next to the river. I will come back again.

It's a beautiful nature park with a big hiking route. Halfway through the route is a little 'pub' next to the water where you can take a breather and drink something. The path itself has many stairs and steep hills, so wheelchair users, people with kids strollers and people with crutches can't really do this. It's a nice path with lots of cave entrances which you can (most of the time) enter. Along the way you pass an insect 'farm' (just some structures build to help bees and butterflies nest), and there are some signs teaching you things from the environment. The route has really pretty look out points too. I'd really recommend this if you like hiking, or want a peaceful and quiet activity.

Really nice walk! The signs were very clear and this makes a nice afternoon walk. Just make sure to reserve only (due to COVID)

It takes about 1h30 to see it all. You have a couple of nice views and things to see during the walk (about 12 i believe). Some viewpoints, some old roman walls and a fully restored roman bath house. They rebuilt the bath house according to old plans and even field tested it to make sure it worked just like during the roman times: they filled the baths with water and heated the water with wood for several days. The result was that they had warm water baths with a constant temperature.
Along the track -which is very well marked- you'll also visit caves (i.e. some very ancient burial cave)
It is a very nice a beautiful walk. Almost at the end you can enjoy some ice-cream or drink(s) at a riverbank bar.

I get a chance to work in Belgium for 2 months and it is my first time ever in Dinant. Parc de Furfooz is a really nice escape from work with stunning scenery, historical ruins and fascinated caves.
It surely worth a visit if you want to escape from the crowded during weekends and holidays.
But mind you. Better get a rented car to go. I travel there by public transport. You can reach there by train to Gendron-Celles station (1 intermediate stop from dinant), which is a very small station. From the station, you follow the only road to the bridge, but don’t cross the bridge! I crossed the bridge and needed to backtrack quite a lot to reach Furfooz. Instead, go down to the riverside, passed by a shop renting canoe. Then, follow the trail at east side of riverbank which is indicated by ‘white and red’ sign. Make sure you are facing north towards furfooz.
At mid-way, you will see a small cafeteria with toilet. Passing the cafeteria, sticking on the main road. In around 15-20 minutes from the cafeteria, you will reach tge entrance of furfooz!
This whole things took me more than 30 minutes just by reaching the entrance! And you will need a further 1-1.5 hour to finish the whole trail of Parc de Furfooz.
But it surely worth a visit!
