Visited 2 weeks ago with my family (school-aged kids), had a terrific time. First outing on our vacation, beautiful butterflies, hummingbirds, sloths, tons of lizards, ocelots and more. Old-timey Tica House provides sugar cane tea as a sample. Hike to the waterfall was a workout,...More

What a beautiful park! I loved the combination of animals and waterfalls. The butterfly garden was quite an experience, as was learning more about the toucans. It would be great if there were a few more docents around to answer questions.

Great place for a family. Sanctuary for animals. Great people. Went out of their way to make our time there great.

We were on our way from San Jose to sarapiqui and saw this on the way. We just took a couple of snaps but have just realised there's more to it. It's a lovely feature on the road.

It's definitely worth a visit. We hiked to the waterfalls and through the ferns. We also visited everything -- the aviary, the large cats, the frogs, the snakes, the butterflies, etc. We fed the sloths, toucan and the humming birds. Check the schedule and plan...More

We took a shuttle van from San Jose and we got to La Paz Waterfall Gardens in about an hour and 15 minutes. It is about 52 kilometers away from San Jose.
