Don't be fooled by the nice welcome. This establishment is an embarrassment to Brussels and Belgium. A complete rip off. We normally check reviews etc but we were tired and just wanted something wholesome and relatively authentic. We won't make the same mistake again. The promising start of some excellent draft grimbergen soon gave we to the tourist trap. 8€ for 6 tiny pieces of garlic bread, 18€ for 1 cheese and 1 shrimp croquette. The main courses of traditional sausage and mash and beef cooked in dark beer were just about edible but the insult came when we realised that the tiny bowl of vegetables and the small side salad had added a further 13€ to our bill. We expressed our disappointment to the staff who simply shrugged their shoulders and turned away. Just stay clear of this place and if the owners read and care about the reviews then take some pride in what you are serving and the city you represent.

The street name reveal what sorts of shops used to stand here - butchers, herbs, chickens, and cheese. During meal times, this dirty, narrow street is absolutely crawling with tourists browsing through wall-to-wall, low-quality restaurants. Don't count on getting a good value here - better restaurants are just a few steps away. Many diners here are day-trippers from other European countries. In general, the restaurants on this street are a tourist trap.
