I'm not even a Christian and I found this church to be so beautiful that I had to go back for a second visit. The Calvary is also amazing, I have never seen anything like it on such a scale. This place is worth an...More

Frer entrance for one of rubens churches. Fanastic angels in stone on the outside in a pasageway. Once inside, very well decorated with fantastic wood carvings and paintings on the nauve. Worth the visit.

A beautifu and large cathedral that is worthy of a long visit. So many things to see here other than your standard cathedral sanctuary. Lovely outdoor garden, and awesome vault room filled with beautifully jewel adorned metalworks. We really enjoyed our visit.

We arrived here at the last opportunity before flying back and found that on Sunday it is not open until 2pm - not surprising of course - but the building is terrific with a very high steeple and great architecture.

You'll read in the other reviews that this is a beautiful church, with paintings by Rubens and also a number of beautiful statues. But don't miss the fascinating collection of statues by the side of the church, referred to as The Calvary. This group of...More

This church is flooded in light. Amazing restoration after the fire in the late 1960's. Used to be the church of a huge monastery. The monks are gone but the paintings of Rubens and Van Dijck are still there.

The church itself istiny, if you're used to the gothic churches of Antwerp. The entrance is uncharacteristis, the main church doors are (permanently?) closed and you go through a side door, which connects to the corridor leading to the statuary beside the church. The interior...More
