Not scenic or pretty, but a fascinating area to visit if you're interested in the development of Rotterdam's Europoort. Take the boat ride for close up access to some of the ocean going container vessels...and there's a really good visitor centre.

Were looking for something different to do, and this definitely hit the mark. As we also had a 6 year old with us, only did the boat tour and visitor center (ie skipped the bus tour). The size of things is amazing. A view of...More

We visited this on the way (well almost) from Amsterdam back to Hook of Holland for the ferry. It really is worth a visit. As you drive through the port and industrial areas approaching the information centre you get a feel for the incredible scale...More

This top spot on the very edge of the harbour on reclaimed land sports a lot of activities for everyone. Interactive expositions, photographs on display and presentations about seals, shark eggs and other marine life.

This weekend we visited the Tweede Maasvlakte. A complete new build island at the coast of Rotterdam. In the museum, you can see what they found during building it and see how they made it. Heavy machinery and a lot of construction, very interesting.

At the end of a private tour of the Rotterdam port, our guide took us to FutureLand for a bathroom break I was astonished to see that it's set up like a U.S. Park Service Tourist Center of the modern era: exhibits for children, others...More
