Pieterskerk is magnificent it really is and the district it is set in is probably vying with the canalside for Leiden's nicest area. Leiden is a stunning city and Pieterskerk is its crowning jewel. It's the first place I went to and i just loved...More

This huge old church merits many superlatives. It's vast, amazingly important historically, starkly beautiful, fascinating and has good display boards about the Pilgrim Fathers and the little-known Leiden origins of Thanksgiving. You will spend twice as long here as you might think. Take time to...More

Leiden offers so much to visitors which makes it a wonderful place to visit, and the Pieterskerk is one Americans must see - on the outside is a huge memorial plaque commemorating the Pilgrims who sailed to the Americas on the Mayflower.

The 'kerk' is spectacular to look at and it is located in one of the nicest and most atmospheric area of Leiden. It is well worth wondering through the narrow streets before or after visiting the 'kerk'.

Great church with very nice organs. Very nice decorated. Great and monumental. It is sad, however, that this is a former church.
