Very small but packed

The store on top is a party store. Look for the address plate on the outside of the shop that lets you know the museum is there. The owner is extremely friendly and invested. He, after all, is a SInterklaas himself. He showed me where the museum was and told me a bit about himself and about Zwolle's tradition and asked where I was from. He allows you to look around the tiny museum at your leisure. If you do not know about Zwart Piet you may want to look into it before you go because he is definitely a different entity than we have in the states and that part of the collection may make you curious or change your impression of the museum. There are a few small items for sale that are Sinterklaas related. If you love Santa or different holiday traditions around the world then I recommend you stop by if you are in Zwolle. The fee is super reasonable. It will not take much time out of your visit and since I was visiting at the holidays it seemed a great time to go by.

In the basement of the fun articles shop
Aug 2018 • Couples
You reach the "Sinterklaasmuseum" by entering the fun articles shop on the address given and proceeding to the back of the shop, where a narrow steep stairway leads to the basement. Not accessible for people with a physical disability. In the tiny basement you find a large and compact collection of objects, photographs, dolls etc. belonging to the Dutch "Sinterklaas en Zwarte Piet" tradition. This museum is heartwarming and deserves more visitors. Visitors are invited to put a voluntary contribution of 50 eurocent per person in a collection box.

What a surprise!

This tiny museum situates in the basement of a really nice giftshop "Meinesz & Bennesz". The owners are very friendly and talked about their "smallest museum" in the Netherlands. One of the owners is an expert and fanatic of Sinterklaas and told me all kinds of facts, stories. This tiny museum beholds lots of heritage and is an interesting stop in your visite to Zwolle.
