I loved the exterior of this building and found the dome on the top fascinating. I was intrigued to see the exhibits inside and for €15 it was a must. I know everyone's tastes are different but there were only a few of the items on display that really inspired me or caused some discussion with my partner.
What I found unnerving was the way the staff constantly moved around. They were all very pleasant but it felt like security was following you around.
The exhibitions appear to change regularly so there may be something on more to my taste in my next visit.

Nice museum in a beautiful structure. The Egg rooftop gives the old building an edge and becomes part of the art exhibitions themselves.

We visited yesterday. It’s free entry on Friday afternoon from 5 pm till about 8 pm I think. We booked online but I don’t think,it was necessary to do that as nobody scanned our ticket and we were just directed to the free lockers.
It’s just round the corner from the park and is in the old part of town. There are some older portraits tucked away on the ground floor which we nearly missed but it’s mainly devoted to exhibiting younger artists work and the theme changes. There is a lift. But we walked up to the top floor where there is a good view of the town and a small coffee area. Certainly worth looking in for an hour or so if it doesn’t cost you the normal entry fee which is about €12 euros.

Great museum in an unique round glass egg shaped building located in Zwolle, Netherlands 🇳🇱. I visited Zwolle solely to see this beautiful museum with great architecture. Worth seeing arts on display as well including Marc Chagall, Piet Mondrian or Vincent van Gogh. End your visit with a coffee on the last floor and enjoy the landscape on a rainy weekend trip.

From the moment I stepped into this museum, it was a bad experience. I had bought a ticket online, printed it out as it had a QR code. At the gates there is a machine to scan the code to allow skip-the-line entry. Guess what. It doesn't work. Buying a ticket online is absolutely pointless and a waste of time.

My ticket would not scan and then the blonde woman at the ticket desk rudely waved a finger at me and told me to go to the end of the line and made me line up to collect the real ticket. My advice to this museum is to not mislead people. Don't offer ticket purchases online when the guest has to line up anyway. It would have saved me time if I just bought the ticket there rather than having to stand there trying to scan an online ticket, only to be told off by your staff to go to the end of the line. The people who bought the ticket at the venue got in faster than I.

My second complaint is that the staff who work there in general are terribly strange and not very friendly. It was a bizarre experience. I am used to the Dutch being very friendly, open and helpful. This museum was an exception. There is too many staff walking around surreptitiously scanning people in the museum as though you are going to steal something. Only that there is nothing valuable to steal. During the 30 mins I was there, a female and male staff member had been trawling all the floors multiple times and I saw both at least three times each in the short time I was there. The way they look at you is the suspicious 'side-eye' look as though they are trying to catch a thief and suspect it's you. They won't even throw you a smile. They aren't there to help. They are there to watch you like Big Brother. It's very sly.

They also will not allow you to take any bags into the museum. Not even a tiny bag. They make you lock it up. Honestly this museum has nothing valuable. I didn't enjoy it at all and that's why I was able to check my bags in and out, go to the toilet, take pictures at the (terrible) viewpoint and go through all three floors of the museum in 30 mins. 90% of this museum is Rob Scholte. I believe this museum is more targeted at the local market and not international visitors.

I didn't even know who Rob Scholte was till I came here and wad thinking there would be some more varied and diverse works with artists that were more well known. It was a very boring and empty museum.

The ticket price is exorbitant and there is no "view of Zwolle". If you are looking for the best views of the city, go to the Peperbus tower. Such nice staff, only 3.50 euro and fabulous views.

This is the place to visit when in Zwolle. Super building. Small coffee place with pastries inside. Museumkaart valid. Sometimes interesting exhibits.

We visited this fine museum in the afternoon. We had no reservations but there was space to accommodate us and we were happy to get in. The museum has a strict Covid regime and there is a route indication on the floor which you can just follow. In this way you are never going in the wrong direction and you also do not exclude any rooms with works of art. There is a elevator if you cannot take the stairs. The collection is mostly paintings with a mix of own pieces and a temporary exposition. The focus during our visit was on Eastern German painters of which a combination of modern and sometimes surrealistic paintings was shown. Also the building itself is worth the visit with the big window on top overlooking the inner city of Zwolle. In total we spent about 2,5 hours in the museum.

A very vague note at the door which is partially readable ... the museum is closed. Hotel did not know, other tourist places do not know ...

Badly communicated ...

What a delight! The Jeroen Krabbe exhibition was well worth seeing, but the permanent collection was full of nice surprises such as a Dufy and a Turner. Lots of great Dutch artists: Mondrian, Sluijters, israels, Toroop and some impressive work by Jan Cremer. Worth visiting the chic cafe situated in the dome, with a great view out over the whole of beautiful Zwolle. Nice museum shop too.

It is a very nice museum. The Jeroen Krabbé part was colorful. The Fundatie collection has beautiful works. The building is classic with modern touches, including the tiled egg on top.
