We were visiting a friend who recently moved to Amsterdam and he took us to Butchers Tears. It's out of the way, which is nice. The location is in an old auto shop at the long dead end of Karperweg. The beers were tasty -...More

Some people love it; others hate it. Its a garage converted into a taproom to showcase its own beers which are very good indeed. Well worth making the effort to get to it.

Butchers Tears is a great little brewery located in the Old South neighborhood of Amsterdam. Jump on your bike and go through Vondelpark to reach the brewery, located at the end of an industrial road. The brewery specializes in revisiting old beer recipes, while still...More

Tucked away in an industrial area, the bar was very quiet the day I visited the brewery. Wide selection of beer both draft and bottle. Friendly staff.

Very unusual tasting room situated as it is in a renovated garage with minimal décor inside. Also, it is at the end of a street whose housing turns into an ambulance station & small industrial units partway down. Yet this place does have its own...More

It is well worth making the effort to go to this place. Its at the end of a suburban street and the taproom, is essentially a converted garage. However, they have 5-6 taps on plus bottles mainly from their own brewery which produces some top-notch...More

The people who run it are cool, if not the friendliest. The ensure a wide range of activities are available and support the local community in this. Their wine is excellent but they prefer you to drink beer, unfortunately I find the beer a bit...More

Highly unpretentious, this is a down to earth microbrewery outlet. We spent the afternoon (open Wed - Sun 16:00 - 21:00) sitting amongst a relaxed group of people drinking some really great craft beer. Music was somewhat eclectic, and the tap room is very basic...More

One of the more mature microbreweries around with a good range of beer. Its not a beer bar as its a basic structure (or garage). It is only open 5 days from 16.00-21.00 and its not for the usual tourist to be honest i.e. you...More
