How do you find a quiet, comfortable place to stay in a big busy city? Easy - choose a real neighbourhood. We are staying in a real, 400 yr old building, outside the city centre but within walking distance of the train station and all...More

Prinseneiland is one of small islands in the former west harbour of Amsterdam. The storehouses with big windows is an eye-catcher. From outside you see old buildings but when you're inside, some of them were changed into moderne houses. Many artists live and work in...More

There are many residential dwellings at Prinseneiland. These structures are formerly warehouses. The red shuttered windows are very impressive with boat houses alongside the canal in the frontage.

We stayed here in a place called the Boat House and we loved it. The locals were very kind and the buildings are really interesting.

At the risk of sounding like a heathen, if you're staying or visiting the area it worth looking at this area as it is pretty, but if you are staying elsewhere, I personally would look at the building in the area you're in rather than...More

Yes! In Amsterdam there are small islands. This one has my favourite yoga school Delightyoga and it's always great to walk in this neighbourhood with great architecture.

Step back in time and visit Prinseneiland in the center of Amsterdam. it is very artsy and one of my favorite places to be. A little farm is there as well and beautiful crooked homes from 1700

Beautiful island with renovated warehouses where people live. Originally the islands west of the city center with the traditional 17th century ship yards

I hesitate to tell anyone else about this charming island oasis. We stayed here for a week and absolutely fell in love, as you can walk everywhere. 5 minutes to the Jordaan area, trams, etc, yet you are living in a very quiet residential neighborhood....More

One of the nicest buildings of the city. Very cool and strange, it will be impossible for you not to notice from the distance while you walk by.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
