About
Located in the heart of the Red Light District – a stones throw from the Dam square, the Winston Kingdom is an underground club with a long history. Started off as the hotel bar of the famous art hotel Winston and hang-out to Amsterdam’s artists, musicians, poets and assorted drinkers in the mid-eighties, the bar has grown into a popular nightclub and live music venue. The Winston Kingdom is a place with many faces. Open every night of the week until late the program includes indie-rock, electro, drum n bass, hip-hop, dub-reggae and unpretentious retro-pop, often preluded by local and international live acts of all sorts and styles. Next to that crazy student parties, skate and snowboard events, band competitions and other special events take place and make the Winston Kingdom one of Amsterdam’s finest dives.

First night in amsterdam and i thought of going to this place by looking at the reviews online. People call it night club, that's funny..very small club with such bad technicals though i really enjoyed listening to DJ..such a talented guy..Folks, you definitely need to upgrade if you are charging 7 euros for the entry, your competitors are pretty famous and they charge nothing. Dank Je!

Stayed in the hostel 2 years ago but never made it to the club - wish we had now as we all had a great time. Reasonable to get in and good drinks and music.

Always have a good time here. Great drinks deals, variety of music, and dive bar atmosphere. Monday nights are particularly good.

As I've seen a few others mention, the dj literally played anything that came to mind by the sound of it, one minute it was fast paced then immediately after it'd be a slow jam then rinse and repeat which was a bit odd but who cares when the drinks are flowing. Clubs a bit small & didn't have any tables from what I could see just a dancefloor and a stage area which I saw people getting moved from by security from time to time. Overall a typical club nothing special, but makes a change from all the pubs in Amsterdam.

The Winston Club was a good place to dance or drink with some friends. Unfortunately, the DJ did not respect the theme of the night. Instead of Electro, we had some R'nB and Soul music.... Shame...

I Visit Winstons everytime I travel to Amsterdam. The food here is fantastic, good beer choices and happy hour offers everyday. It's in a good location and is only 10 minutes from Centraal Station. There's also 2 smoking areas inside and out.

It's a young crowd but everyone is having fun. There's a smoking area where weed is allowed and a beer garden, though that was closed when I got there. There's a club next door and also a hostel which I did stay at on a previous visit. Exciting, lively place.

We paid 15 euros for a what they called "A Burlesque Show"!!!
We arrived at the venue at 9.10pm to be told "we're running late, go next door & get a drink".
80% of the show was a band playing, which i might add were fantastic, but we'd paid to see a burlesque show. There was 4, 5 max dances for the whole 4 hours we were there.
We did complain to the staff & they assured us the second half of the show would be better......it wasn't!!!!
This whole thing we felt was a waste of money, as we could've paid to see a band at home.
Poor & disappointing

Dear Cheryl, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are very sad to hear you didn't enjoy our burlesque show. Here at the Winston we really love live music and the alternative/rockabilly vibe. That's why we have decided to incorporate it with our burlesque night. Each event we have 3 different performers doing 2 acts each, as well as Mistress of the ceremonies, DJ and a band - which is mentioned on our website, social media platforms and the flyer.
We are always trying to improve our events so take you for your feedback!
