Very pretty structure, however didn’t seem able to enter the building, which was disappointing. Not the location you would expect. At the head of a really busy road junction. Lovely little cafe next door.

The De Grooyer Windmill is in pretty good shape compared to the De Otter Windmill. This is what comes to mind when people think of windmills in the Netherlands. It was not open when we were there. It is a good walk from the Centraal...More

Not to sure of hype... it’s just a windmill. But the area around and brewery/pub near by make the visit worthy.

Nice Windmill, few minutes from Amsterdam city center. Also, there is a pub with very nice beer and great environment!

We walked here from the Albert Cuyp market. It was a long walk. However, when we rounded the last corner it was worth it. Really cool view and beautiful pictures. The windmill is basically what you think of when you think of Dutch Windmills from...More

This is the only windmill in Amsterdam and just happens to have a brewery next door. The bar connected to the brewery (there are 2 different bars) serves flights of taster beers as well as a wider selection of its own craft beers. They will...More

A must see, really close to the center!! What is a visit to Amsterdam without including a windmill? This windmill is the closest to the canal ring so you can walk to see it or get the tram (about 10 minutes from Rijksmuseum area). It...More

A windmill near the centre of Amsterdam. It is not working but still lovely to sit outside with a drink and a light bite and stare in wonder

My daughter really wanted to see a windmill and we were only in Amsterdam for a few days. I think it satisfied her request. You can’t go in, but it is a “real” windmill.

I didn't go into the windmill, either. I don't think you can. I saw it on the hike I took to the Maritime Museum. I expect the Brewery has a website and you can google that. Wish I could be more helpful.
