I honestly don’t have any improvement suggestions for this tour. I found it very honest, respectful, interesting and insightful. I thought I knew a lot about my city but this tour proved me wrong. It was interesting to hear stories from a very different perspective...More

I think anyone visiting Amsterdam should go on this tour. Amsterdam Underground takes you through the popular Red Light District and shows you a different side of the city; those of being homeless, drug addicts and involved in prostitution. Especially impressed with the strength and...More

Hi! Thank you for giving us your recommendations! We appreciate your honest review about the tour with our guide Sonja. "Openness" is Sonja s middle name. You need a lot of courage to tell her story though! Thank you for participating! Kind regards!

I took the tour with some of my friends. We are all living in the city but still learned a lot from this tour. Michel really took his time talking with us and it felt more like walking with a friend than a tour guide...More

This was an amazing tour. Sonja took me and my classmates on a tour of the places she used to work when she was in prostitution. Including walking through the Red Light District, seeing pictures of how Chinatown was riddles with crime, and seeing areas...More

My husband and I did a tour with Michel which was informative and through the eyes of someone who had lived through drugs, crime and homelessness. It was fantastic to hear Michel's story as he walked us through the city and no questions were out...More

Our guide told us many interesting stories about the red light district and its past. At the same time he showed us some fascinating places in Amsterdam (not the tipical touristic hotspots).

Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its

view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
