We loved our walks on each of the canals. Each has its own story and beauty. Love the barges and the home barges. If you have time take a canal cruise.

singel provides a nice mix of residential, shops, houseboats, restaurants. it's a good canal to walk down for a few blocks, before you cross to the next.

This canal is the first one of canals from the centre. The part of this canal is known due to the flower market. The walks around canals are beautiful.

We walked along this street almost everyday as it was near where we lived. Lovely walk by the canals with interesting houseboats along the side of the canals. Lots of cafes and shops along the way. Very much part of Amsterdam.

For the shutterbugs, this is a great place for photos. This is also a great place for a stroll - all the bridges in Amsterdam are, to be fair. They know how to do inner-city bridges.

Amsterdam is all about facades, it was the richest city in Europe in the middle ages, and the wealthy merchants used to build houses with beautiful facades decorated with some statues that are pieces of art

Years ago this canal was on the canal boat trip route and it was quite noisy. Now it is just a quiet canal where you can see spectacular bridges and enjoy a quiet walk.

Must have a reservation . Tables very close together authentic Dutch menu. . Food is overrated considering the popular reviews read about this place.

One of the widest canals, full of tour boats, looks like a fun thing to do, all sorts of boats. And the canal houses are as charming as they can be.

The menu is short and all the food is freshly made as ordered and presented with care. The day I visited, the cook was an artist and took extra trouble to serve a beautiful crepe. I don't remember the menu, but I know I... More
