Centrally located, convenient to downtown, and a true transportation hub within The Netherlands and the rest of Europe. Don't miss noticing the literally hundreds of bicycles parked next to it, right by the water.

Just a fun place to walk into and see. This is the place where if you are connecting trains, buses or trams you will need to use if you are in Amsterdam.

We arrived at the station and were amazed that there were no signs to show which way to go ,out of the two exits, to the main exit. We luckily recognised the view out to the front. If we had exited the rear it would...More

The Central Station is huge. There are international, national and local stations sitting next to each other but best of all, there are fast trains (20 minutes being the quickest) to Schipol Airport, the station being directly under the main concourse.

Architecturally beautiful and a must see; and then move on. Be cautious as this is a rougher part of neighborhood but busy during day.

I was greatful to a friend for picking me up at the airport and taking me to my boutique hotel close to the Central Station. And going back to the airport by train was very easy, just 10 euro RT if you have a layover....More

Huge number of travellers however buying tickets was straightforward. Earmarking trains for the airport could be clearer apart from that all good.

This is a very old building which if you look carefully is very impressive but it is not just a train station it is also a shopping complex.

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring

You can buy food and beverages on the high speed trains. There are plenty of places within the central station area to buy food as well.

You can walk around the city easily. Uber is safe and reliable for longer journeys, or if you get tired of walking. I found trains and buses to be quite expensive in Amsterdam. Over 3 EUR for a short trip (2km). I didn't... More
