It is about a km walk from the cheese museum. You can walk past the Sint-Laurenskerk square and reach this old mill. It isn't in use anymore and you can't enter it, but it did suffice for a tourist like me purely because we could...More

Not working.. Think the place is unoccupied? But the surroundings are good for a couple of picture. No harm passing by. The canal along it was indeed picturesque.

Never mind if the fine old wind mill is closed. It’s beautiful, the wings turn slowly - and most important: It’s one of the most picturesque spots in Alkmaar. Go do your job, tourist!

This windmill is still working, but it just as tourist attraction, it is privately own and we are not able to enter. The location is at the end of the park near the old city. Very nice walk at the park and canal.

Like everyone else who visits the lovely city of Alkmaar, I dutifully walked to the Molen Van Groot and took a photo. And that’s about it really.

The windmill is located on the outskirts of the old city along a nice walking path. It's a great little walk and not as busy as the center of the old city.

There is no guest of mine who hasnt been in front of the molen van groot for taking a photo. You can visit it when there is the open day for visiting the mills.

The 'Molen van Piet' (as it is called by locals) is the windmill owned by the 'Piet'-family. It has been in that family for a very long time, generation after generation. It is now not open for the public any longer, but of course you...More

Beautiful sight. An easy walk and a piece of history. Saw from both the canal ride and on the walking path

This is right in the greenbelt park that rings the north and west side of the city center and edges the canal. Makes for a nice evening stroll

Beautiful, traditional, epitomises Holland. A great picture spot for your holiday. Oh the outskirts of a traditional city over looking a canal- A nice spot for a picnic.
