The Valkhof Museum houses archeological finds from various sites around Nijmegen (Netherland’s oldest city). These artifacts are displayed beautifully with significant documentation (mostly in Dutch). In addition, there is an art collection that spans several hundred years of painters including some pieces from contemporary artists....More

You do have to be well into Art to visit. There are lifts for the disabled and there are old works of Art there too which I enjoyed

While it's true that most museums can be visited time after time and still reserve surprises, this one especially can be enjoyed at every age with permanent exhibits and in special shows present for a limited time. There's no danger of boredom.

What a space!. At this moment there is an exhibition of Uwe Poth, a local artist and also about the romans. There is a lot of pottery and ceramic in their collection especially the ones they found from the local archaeological dig.

The museum was excellently laid out, with many Roman exhibits. The paintings were also very good. The cafe was good Dr.

They claim its free admission for walkers of de vierdaagse, perhaps I should ask for two refunds ? Great museum, sadly with only Dutch signs to anything exhibited. Still well worth a trip each time you do the Four Days walk.

The museum itself is quite small, considering the price of tickets. The exhibitions on offer are fairly interesting but ultimately overpriced.

Some interesting exhibitions, but most are not so much. Het Valkhof is an interesting building in itself, and the first few exhibitions are truly mesmerizing.. But it gets a bit chaotic after that. Like I said - the building is interesting but it also makes...More

Tickets are not cheap - if you are not entitled to any discount, the ticket costs you approx. 11 euros pp. The exposition starts promissing - a vast collection of Roman artefacts. Everything is explained well and the sequence of the museum makes sense. After...More
