Larry runs this Wolf and Husky Sanctuary in Reitz. He saves them and rehabilitates these beautiful creatures. He has about 297 on his property and Larry knows each of them by name and personality. Larry is so knowledgeable about these animals and loves and cares for each of them. Larry will take you on a walk about to all the enclosures and where possible he will allow you into the enclosure to have close contact with a wolf or a husky (depending on their personality). It is an amazing experience to touch a wolf and be so close to these beautiful shy creatures. Larry is filled with stories of each wolf or husky, where they come from or how he came to save them. An amazing outing and one that you are bound not to forget.

Huskyromi is a rescue sanctuary and haven for neglected or abandoned wolves and huskies. As a consequence of greedy human intervention into these wild animals' natural livelyhood, these unfortunate animals are forced into captivity instead of being simply left alone in the wilderness.
At Huskyromi these complexed, majestic and highly intelligent animals are cared for with love and dedication by Canadian and ex professional Ice Hocky player, Larry Paul. He considers his collection of husky and wolf pets as his very own children.
You will learn that wolves are not the aggressive killers as described in the movies. They are actually very calm, timid and friendly, but have complexed social behaviour within the pack.
This us an eye opening educational experience for any serious animal lover to visit.

On our way to start our honeymoon we drove past a sign and decided to explore. We arrived and phoned Larry, the owner, but he wasn’t there but explained that another person was there and would assist. There was no intercom so we waited a while at the gate as the lady didn’t realize that the noise from the dogs and wolves meant there were visitors, apparently they make quite a bit of noise over nothing at all 🤣 with almost 300 animals, I can definitely believe that!

When we we greeted, the lady was friendly, and we began the tour. We were taken to each enclosure and told of their history and even some of their quirks. It was unbelievable to see a wolf up close, and also how they are remarkably similar to our canine pets.

We were given an opportunity to enter a few enclosures and interact with the wolves and huskies, what an absolute treat. We spend almost 4 hours there. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

As an animal lover it was a beautiful experience. It’s definitely an experience you won’t forget and will talk about for years to come! Thank you Bernie for spending the day with us and giving us an opportunity to enjoy the sanctuary. It was amazing!
