Thank you very much for your detailed feedback! We are happy you have enjoyed your visit, especially our clock, scientific and toy collection. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again another time.
This pristine museum displays rooms exactly as they appeared in the home of a wealthy person, Johann Burckhardt, from 1775 to 1780. Exquisite tapestries, detailed oil portraits and the finest decor of that period lavishly adorn a multitude of rooms on several floors, plus an...More

Many thanks for your detailed feedback. We are happy you have enjoyed your visit at our museum and would be happy to welcome you again at one of our three museums in Basel!

Really loved the period rooms which gave a great impression of Basel living in different eras. Not a lot of visitors around which meant staff was especially attentive. Very varied exhibits from clocks to toys. Free lockers for your bag.
This is a wonderful small museum with lots of beautiful things to see
The people who work are very helpful.
There are some areas where English descriptions are available
The watch collection is especially good

I loved this museum! There was a small special exhibition of time pieces and it was really great but the ready of the museum was equally fantastic - the interior room displays, the ceramics in fact everything was brilliant. Well worth a visit
I was in Basel for a brief (few hour) stop-over while driving through Switzerland, and I stumbled upon a sign for the special traveling exhibit at HMB "Museum of Broken Relationships."
The regular exhibit at the Museum was nice, if you're interested in history and...More
