This museum is worth going to see, if only for its beautiful new building located not far from the cathedral. When we went, the Kulturen contained a number of interesting ethnographic oriented exhibits and some of those in which we weren’t very interested (such as...More

It is a pitty to see such nice artifacts without understanding what they mean. Visitors would enjoy much more if it displays information in English as well.

the Museum of Cultures is located very centrally on the Cathedral square, and it is definitely worth a visit. a nice courtyard, intersting architecture, and four interesting thematic collections will make you spend a nice half a day here. We specially liked the second floor.

This is a massive space which could have been used in a much better way. The museum ventures into themes and concepts that are not easily coherent to most people. The fact that there are no explanations in English of any sort make it even...More

We are very sorry that you experienced the museum this way. In the entrance of every exhibition room you can find hand-outs in German, French and English where you can read all the explanations. If you come back one day, please don't hesitate to ask...More

As it was 4 o’clock and the museum closed at 5pm we only visited the small exhibition about the Carnival. Most appropriate as the whole city was getting ready for this annual event. Only 30 minutes needed to go around including a very informative video....More

This is fantastic museum with an astonishing collection from many many cultures, beautifully set up and informative. The building itself is just beautiful. There's a good little shop too.

Many specials exhibitions; so it may be more or less interesting at different times. However the theme when we were there was that all mankind has migrated and we benefit from that. Also a wonderful collection from Papua New Guinea.

A well-organised beautiful building (inside and out); each floor has a different theme which shows exhibits from all over the world. Fantastic displays which are well thought through. You can easily focus on the artefacts that attracts you most. I adored the unique Kingfisher feather...More

This museum is in the corner just of Munsterplatz, and has a great mixture of displays from masks to modern bottle walls inside a fabulous building, the outside of the building is worth the visit alone

Some interesting artefacts in this museum, but too many of the same thing in some instances. Information sheets on each floor which are very useful, if a little wordy.

This is one of these museums with very diverse expositions: cultural objects from various peoples, modern and antique, common and strange looking. There is for example a huge Native American wigwam which can be observed from different floors. The place is a bit weird and...More
