Good choice of shops. Very clean. Easy access to the airport transportation. Very affordable locker storage.

A very busy and large train station. There are escalators to help you move from the platforms to main station. Signage for taxis is adequate but not great.

Being the main station for intercity trains with many platforms, it can accommodate thousands of travellers. There are also of take away stores for food and places for rest and wait. Suvernior shops are handy on upstairs together with big shopping mall and spot store.

The Basel SBB has big selection of shops, information counter, liquor store and even hair salon! It was an easy direct 50 minutes train ride from Zurich. There are tourism information personnel at the station to answer any questions. People in Basel are much friendlier...More

Good selection of shops. The chocolate outlets, cafes and others shops are on the first floor up the escalator while the Migros supermarket and take-away are on the ground floor.

Nice small city with relaxed ambience. Small number of tourists but a lot relaxed than Zurich. The trams has beautiful colors and people were very friendly.

An splendid piece of architecture to be viewed whether needing a train or not. It is like being inside a great historic building, yet the contemporary functions are typically Swiss - high efficiency and very comfortable.

I used to live in Basel thirty years ago so revisiting was a treat to look forward to. The station is much upgraded and you can journey between platforms now with escalators and lifts; in the 80’s it was down into the tunnel. Arriving from...More

We travelled on the train between the two cities. I think the train is more comfortable because you can walk around and stretch. The seats are more comfortable than a bus. More leg room. The difference in cost is about... More

Pease allow at least 30-45 minutes to buy your ticket to Interlaken. The platforms that SNCF uses are not in the same building as Swiss SBB. It is very likely that you have to ask around to get to SBB side. I hope this helps.

If you can carry the luggage or pull it, then you can take tram number 11 (yellow tram in the direction away from the train stations). A lot easier would be a taxi, however, you might not all fit into one taxi, maybe you... More
