The opera house is simple, but beautiful. The public area around the opera house has some great water sculptures. The opera was amazing -- the set, rotating stages, performers -- incredibly talented group coming together. Lovely evening.....

We bought tickets to the Opera; it was a nice experience. The theatre is a 5-minute walk from the main train station and is safe to walk. The only BIG issue i've seen is that the surtitles weren't visible... we could not see all surtitles....More
I can only recommend to visit some of his magnify spectacles. this theater offer all what you can search. Ballet, theater, musical, concerts, opera,... cinema at another track. Very modern design near the big church. This it's a must at your visit to Basel!!
