It is not on the main tourist line, therefor much more quite than other squares in Lucca. The 12.th century church is a ssmall gem. If you are already tired, there is some cafés and restaurants around.

Beautiful 12th century church in the heart of the old city, along the via filungo. Great place for a rest stop and photo opportunity.

This was one of those piazzas that you just kind of happen upon and are pleasantly surprised. There are some similar looking ones to this as well.

We visited on our way to the church and had coffee. Fairly quiet and away from the crowds so we could relax for a while. Nothing of great interest but the church is worth a visit.

My daughter and her fiancee bought tickets to see a Puccini concert held here and it was very romantic and they really enjoyed it.

We were in the piazza to attend the monthly Lucca antiques market, one of the very best in the Tuscany area. There are perhaps 100 merchants (+/-) selling everything from life-size bronze horses to tiny cameos. Very little "junk", which was a pleasant surprise. There...More
