We only decided to go up when we happened upon the tower and were very glad we did - great views, including the other tower with its trees on top, which you wouldn't be able to appreciate so much if you'd climbed that one instead!...More

Like the other tower, there were lots of steps, with the reward of great views at the top. There were pretty wonky steps though. Not one for claustrophobics. We climbed both towers in Lucca - one was probably enough!

I am afraid of heights but braved my fear to climb the clock tower - the views of Lucca and the surrounding countryside were stunning and well worth the climb. Great pics!

Amazing views from the top of the tower. 207 steps to the top and the steps were quite narrow but very quiet so not an issue. Definitely worth the climb.

Worth all of the 205 steps and great view of all of the city. Go early to avoid crowds and take some water

We needed to find activities that were out of the rain. We worked up an appetite climbing both towers and then went to have a wonderful meal in a family run restaurant.

Get a combined ticket for both towers and the gardens. The Guinigi tower (with the tree on top) is bigger and better but this was quieter and offered a view of the iconic main tower.

Well worth a climb to the top of the tower for great views of Lucca. I held my breath the whole time waiting for the bells to chime, until we got back down and I learned that the bells are no longer in action!

Clock and clock works are visable as you go up the steps. Make sure you cover yours ears as it strikes every quarter of the hour. Views are fantastic from top. You can see Lucca laid out like a map, with the surrounding hills. Lucca...More

I did this tower as part of the three for €6 ticket (this tower, Guinigi Tower and the Botanical Gardens) - which in itself is a great deal! The veiws from the top are nice, but not massivly different from Guinigi. It's the stairs up...More
