- S C6 contributionsReally interesting local marketWe arrived here by cruise ship. As we have young children we didn’t want a long excursion to Pisa or Florence so decided to visit the market instead. Lots of different stalls including fruit, meat, fish… and some interesting surrounding shops. Would highly recommend for a short trip off the boat.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 April 2023
- Shannon M3 contributionsAuthentic MarketWe walked to this market which was very close to the city center. It was a very nice working market for those who came home cook. It was nice to see the meat and vegetables. Very limited prepared foods if your looking for a place to purchase a bite to eat.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2023
- I CPorthcawl, United Kingdom98 contributionsA stunningly beautiful marketThis was certainly the place to visit in the city centre. Easy to find off the main shopping street, but basically follow the locals. A stunningly beautiful interior. Superb choice of food from all over Tuscany region. It makes you realise the importance of cooking with fresh ingredients. Outside there was also another food market on the square plus many stalls selling clothes and everything else. I would recommend a visit. There is a canal on other side of market, part of canal system going through city centre.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 October 2023

Livorno is a city full of life that has many restaurants and hotels. Outside the city there are two big malls. Livorno is a right place if you love the sea and sun. Don't forget to visit Mascagni lungomare at the sunset time.

Located in the centre a market is always an interesting place to visit, and this was no exception. A lovely fresh fruit market outside, and inside the lovely market hall building, there were an array of fresh and dried meat stalls, more food stalls, as well as local crafts and goods. Prices of things were pretty average.

Interesting central market where you can see how the locals live. Amazing selection of fish as well as fruits, vegatables, and wide variety of booths.

Mercato Centrale is similar to the “ Mercados” of South America. it contains a lot of different stands that sell food ( such as meat, bread, fish... ) and there’s also an open market behind it where you can find a lot of different stuff like clothes, necklaces, pots...
it’s very cheap and cool, everyone is kind and available for any information. highly recommended.

Meat, vegetables, fish and assorted sundries. Moderate prices. Higher than those in the street stands.

Hi, there are not much hotels near the market because in the center of the city. The nearest and good hotel is the Granduca in front of the "4 Mori" monument at the beginning of "Via Grande". From there in 5 minutes walk you can be in the center of the city and at the Market.

Hi Dora,
there's a free bus into the town centre from the terminal then it's less than 10 minutes stroll from the main square there lots of canals to walk alongside. The terminal has a good information office and I think they will give you a map.
Enjoy !
Regards
John
