I loved the art of painting in Livorno city from Fattori to Modigliani and I have seen also a show of their paintings in London, so what is better to look at theirpaintings in the city where they were born???

While the palazzo is pretty there is no guidance offered and it's obvious that they need more money. If you just pass the palazzo it seems closed, you only notice that it's open of you insist and walk to the backside.who thought of not even...More

This is a wonderful museum with incredible features including World class paintings and the staircase and ceilings have to be seen to be believed. All the staff were very friendly and I highly recommend you pay the 2.5 euro for the audio guide which really...More

This fabulous building houses a wonderful collection of Italian impressionist artworks. The building itself is a marvel inside with exquisite venetian glass chandeliers. Many of the works capture life in the 19thc countryside depicting peasants, war, farms and fine portraits. If your travels will take...More

Tucked away in a quiet street in the south end of this attractively gritty city which is superficially devoid of cultural attractions is this lovely villa. The interior alone is worth the visit. Downstairs are three lushly over decorated gems of rooms, plus a staircase...More

This museum is small enough to go through thoroughly in an hour. All signs are in Italian, so I probably should have got the English audio headphones. The tiny animal sculptures and jewelry from the Etruscan period feature such contemporary simple shapes--still very appealing. And...More

Lovely old villa set in mature nice parkland. The rooms are opulent and each with a very interesting and varied collection of art ranging from Impressionism to Modernism. Helpful and interesting guides. So under publicised perhaps because of proximity to Pisa & Florence. Only 4...More
