We didn’t plan to see this convent and cells where monks once lived but the steep walk up from the town of Fiesole was well worth the effort. Great views of the whole of Florence along the path too. Make sure you do this plus...More

This is a Fransiscan monastery with a funky little museum of artifacts from the missionaries trips a very long time ago. Like a visit to the past. Also a very sweet little church with some beautiful early renaissance art in it's "native habitat"!! be prepared...More

Beautiful church with a museum. Also a shop with ancient Franciscan formulas for health. Half way up the hill there is a spectacular view of Florence. (Fortunately, a clear day on our visit). We parked at the car park in Fiesole and walked up as...More

You can get to Fiesola by public bus. One of the attractions is the convent, where you have a marvellous view and a very nice cloister.

No wonder this is the top-rated 'attraction' in Fiesole. A pulse-raising walk up a steep hill is rewarded by a splendid complex of an atmospheric church, an intimate courtyard, and a charming souvenir shop with a convivial host-cum-cashier. Spend a good hour here and let...More

A friend of mine, told me, the terrace of the convent was a place where engaged couples exchanged promises of eternal love. I can understand why!

We took a cab to Fiesole then walked up the hill to the Convent. It was steep, but we enjoyed the stunning views and the peaceful atmosphere. There weren't any monks there the day that we went, and the gift shop was not open either...More

This church and convent is a destination in itself beside the fact that it offers a stunning panorama of Florence. The convent in its modest location is a wonderful place to visit.

Probably. Be careful if you arrive at noon or during hours of the Divine Office. Last summer the monks were doing their prayer services at noon and evening. The church will be open, just be aware that if they are holding... More
