A nice medieval square dominated by the Santa Croce Church. It is surrounded by restaurants and cafés.

Another beautiful piazza - some touristy stuff, but an awesome statue of Danta as well. Visit the impressive Basilica.

This piazza takes its name from the Basilica located at one end. Palaces, restaurants and shops surround it. Home to Dante Memorial and in June each year, it is covered in sand for the annual Calcio Fiorentino games

Open space, great restaurants, beautiful buildings and fun people watching. There are other piazzas in Florence, this is the best of them all. Plus, the magnificent basilica on the east side adds to the rich historical theme. Gotta love Piazza Santa Croce!

This piazza is so grand, that it hosts a temporary stadium for Italy's only version of American football/MMA, the famed Calcio Istorico, in June. It's a beautiful open piazza the size of a football field, overlooked by the Facade of Santa Croce and guarded by...More

Nice big open space and while I was here there wasn't many sellers. I would like to see more shops that aren't leather though.

The focus should be the Basilica but the Square is a great place to relax a little, take pictures of the Basilica, perhaps buys something from a local artist, get coffee or lunch.

Yes. There's a Taxi stand just in front of the square. But it's only a five to seven minute walk.
