We literally stumbled upon this place while taking a walk after visiting Piazziale Michelangelo. It is so beautiful words cannot describe it. The view of Florence from the front door is simply breaktaking.

We sort-of found this place by accident. It’s very, very old (second oldest building in Florence after the baptistery at the duomo, I think) and absolutely beautiful. The cemetery out the back is well worth a visit.

Do no miss this church. I know it’s on top but you will not regret going up to the top on a beautiful walk from the bottom up above. You have great news for pictures. But this is one of the oldest church… Dates back...More

A lovely old church with pagan origins. Bit of a climb to get to it but great views so well worth it.

The green and white marble facade with wonderful proportions and geometry are beautiful. The view of Florence from outside of the church is amazing. The interior of the church is also amazing particularly the Chapel of the Crucifix.

One of my favorite places to visit. Lots of steps and lots of working but the views and pictures that you can get are worth it.

Worth the climb up. Pretty cemetery and the view is amazing. If you time it right you can hear the monks singing/chanting and it echoes all the way through. Byzantine mosaics and close to piazza Michelangelo.

At over 1000 years old, the abbey has a rich history. It sits on top of a hill above the Piazzale Michaelangelo, thus giving it a better vantage point to stunning views of the ENTIRE city of Florence with the iconic dome in the distance....More
