Go early to avoid the tourists. The architecture in the square is astonishing. If you intend to go inside the Duomo, the queues are usually long. Catholic Mass is Saturday nights and Sunday mornings with entry through a side door at no cost.

We did not pay to go into the Duomo, we used a side door to pray. The duomo is breathtaking. You can skip the queue by paying extra if not wanting to pray. Beware queues are very long.

A must visit at least once when in Florence. Get up close to the Duomo and admire the 3 types of colored marble, the massive doors, the sheer size of the place. Fight the crowds once and then work your way around the city to...More

It was a long climb to the top... wear comfortable shoes and take water!!! The stairs are tough. Winding staircases almost all the way up but it is well worth it to go to the top!!!!

This square is the stage on which the cathedral and its baptistery dazzle all those who come to see them. But one thing you should know is that there are absolute throngs of people in this piazza at any given time. The Florence cathedral is...More

The historic center is characterized by the immensity

brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
