About
Started in the 16th century by Dominican friars, this is more like a museum than a perfume shop since it stocks an awesome range of perfumes, herbal elixirs and soaps based on, of all things, vinegar.

After being many times in Florence, I finally went to visit Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica of Santa Maria Novella, it was pure emotion, as interesting as a museum, as fanciful as a shop, curious as a magical place. Next time I got to try the in-house coffee-shop.

The first ever pharmacy is worth seeing - that goes without saying. And, besides that, it's a very beautiful place. Even more: they sell the oldest perfumes you can imagine as well as some old-recipie soaps and cremes.

Like walking through a museum. 16th century purveyors of herbal and natural scents, soaps, candles. Customers walk the store from counter to counter choosing scents (such as almond, lavender etc...) available in various forms such as soaps, perfumes, colognes. Exceptional quality products. Efficient well dressed...More
