This is the finest leather store in the world. I puchsed my briefcase online and was given excellent service by email from Antonella. We went through various iterations, until we ended up with the briefcase I ultimately purchased. The leather and construction are superior. I am very happy with the purchase!

I visited this shop in June 2023 after doing online research. I wanted a high quality, handmade leather bag without the flashy logos that are so common today. I purchased a bag from Cellerini as well as two belts. The bag is outstanding. The highest quality bag in my closet. Service was impeccable at the shop in Firenze. Based on my experiences, I plan to custom order in the future and have my bags shipped to the US. Far better quality than any designer bag I own. Highly recommend visiting in person or ordering online from Cellerini. You will be delighted with your purchase.

When I went to Florence (among other stops in Italy) in 2011, the top 2 things on my list were gold and leather. I found the gold, but the leather didn't work out. I really wanted a birkin-style bag and while I did find those, none of them felt like good leather to warrant the hefty price. I also questioned why a bag made in Italy would say "Made in Italy" in English instead of Italian. Disappointed, I came home w/o a bag.
As luck would have it, I stumbled upon an online auction for a Cellerini birkin-style bag. It wasn't a size or color I wanted, but the description mentioned a website. I checked it out and was enthralled. They had both birkin and kelly style bags that offered "personalization" options. I sent an email and received a prompt response from Alejandro, who faxed me diagrams and measurements for both styles of bag.
Since this was a first purchase, I only ordered the birkin-style bag. For the exterior leather, there were 3 textures to pick from and many beautiful colors. For the interior there were 2 leather types and several colors. I also got to pick the hardware and thread color. I faxed the order in and was told it would take about a month, with my card being charged at the time of shipment. In that time the Euro tanked so I saved a few bucks :)
Construction of the bag took a little over a month, but it was shipped ultra fast considering it came from Italy to the US. UPS charged me 10% of the bag's cost in import fees before they would deliver it. This is not Cellerini's fault, I am just warning you to expect this if you order.
The bag is stunning with buttery soft leather (stamped Firenze - Italian for Florence, answering my Made in Italy question, if it's made in Italy it will be in Italian). I own one real Hermes bag and this rivals it in workmanship. The only negative is that the bag didn't match the dimensions I selected, and in looking at the sheet, I found it didn't really match any of the dimensions listed (because of the size issue it appears taller than it is wide, making it more a HAC-style bag than a birkin-style). That being said, one look and you know this is quality (it's handmade and it puts my other designer bags to shame) and I adore it. I plan to order the kelly-style bag soon.
Depending on your purse budget these can be considered pricey. If you're used to designer prices, it won't shock you, but if you only bag faux leather bags at department stores be prepared for sticker shock and remember the prices are listed in Euros (meaning it costs more in Dollars).
I hope to return to Italy and want to try to get into the actual Cellerini store. Please don't hesistate to do a custom order with them.

Cellerini is the best leather store in Firenze. Though it is not cheap, the handbags and other leather products are of the highest quality, rivaling Hermes in attention to detail and luxury, though not rivaling Hermes in price. They have also done custom orders for me. Whenever I'm in Firenze, it's one of my first shopping stops.

If you desire for high quality calfskin handbags at affordable prices, this is the place for you. Tucked away from the main street in Firenze, I visited this shop in November 2012 based on my travel guide's advice. This little shop was indeed a gem in Firenze.
Offering simplicity and elegance are 2 words to describe the pure existence of this shop. I ordered a customer made calfskin shoulder bag and told that I might need to wait up to 2 months for the finished product. Time was not a concern to me, so I agreed to go ahead with the order. I was indeed quite surprised to receive an email from Antonio (their staff) that the bag was ready by mid-Jan 2013. WOW! I got my bag in just under 1 week via express courier service. Super service! my bag looked unbelievably chic and posh! Thanks to Antonio and Alessandro for their good service.
P.S. Be warned that there were lots of colours to choose from for the outer and inner lining and I got so perplexed that I spent almost 1 hour juggling as to which colour to choose from!

I bought my first bag while in Florence with my husband. I loved it so much I knew I needed another one. I googled them and found they had a web site. I emailed my choices added a monogram and had it in 3 weeks. It's less then any Chloe bag and I love it as I designed it and it much better quality. I will be ordering more. This is the only bag I will buy as its essentially custom made from Italy.

Alessandro and Beth thank you for sending me such a beautiful handbag. I want to let others know they should not miss a visit to your store, in person or online.
This shop has beautiful handmade leather handbags of exceptional quality and style.
I was in Florence last Feb and missed this shop. I found it online after returning home. I ordered a handbag from them and just received it.
This bag is stunning and well made. The leather is very, very nice. The quality of workmanship and leather shows great pride by the Cellerini staff, Alessandro and Beth.
Customer service from the start to completion was excellent. Emails were answered promptly and shipment was on time, within the time frame as promised when I placed the order. Handbag was well packaged and included all pieces such as the small gold lock and keys as well as shoulder strap with the bag. All high quality.
I recommended this shop to others on Trip Advisor and at home.
I have several handbags from the famous Leather School in Firenze and this bag is comparable in workmanship and price.
I highly and confidently recommend them to anyone, online or in person. The price I paid is fair for the excellent product I purchased and consistent with others as mentioned above.
I would be happy to visit and buy from again when we will be back first week of May 2017.
