This little-known cloister is one of the most beautiful spaces in the city, holding some of the most important frescoes of the 1500s. The monochrome walls of the cloister feature the masterpiece frescoes of Andrea del Sarto.

This was right across the street from our hotel! We walked in and spent about an hour looking at the beautiful frescos. The woman working there was extremely friendly and helpful!

Few tourists ever visit Chiostro dello Scalzo, which is a pity. I was taken by my guide as a part of the Salon/Sanctuary Sacro/Profano Festival, and this is one more hidden treasure our guide took us to see. It is located at 43°46'46.4"N 11°15'34.2"E, at...More
