This Piazza does get crowded during the day. Lot of tour groups and visitors taking in the sights. However the Piazza is best after dark. It is romantic to stroll through the piazza after everyone has gone home. The Duomo all lit up at night...More

This is probably the most crowded square in Florence. It is home to the Duomo and Baptistery. Be prepared for very large crowds. The best bet is to go early morning or late afternoon/early evening. It does afford beautiful views of the buildings.

This is such a beautiful area with spectacular buildings, notably the Duomo, and all the other connecting buildings. It is amazing. However, if you go during midday, it will be super crowded and instead of looking around at the architecture, you will just be having...More

One of the most crowded squares of Florence as it is where the Duomo is Far too many people and difficult to enjoy the architecture of the Duomo and tower.

Beautiful central piazza with magnificent Battistero of Florence in the center. Plenty of cafes and restaurants around, vibrant at night and extremely crowded during the day. Do not miss the Loggia del Bigallo, an impressive late Gothic building with two arches richly decorated with elaborate...More

There are many restaurants to enjoy here or you can sit and watch the hustle unfolding in front of you. You can watch as people climb the bell tower and the dome as my wife did as she has vertigo so couldn’t do it. There...More

This city square was a short walk from our hotel. It's a lively, lovely place to visit. There's plenty of places to eat or drink with outside seating to just sit and soak in the atmosphere and people watch. Just some of the places to...More

If not for the crowds I would have loved to stay longer Unfortunately, free does draw a crowd. It is scary to think of the talent, effort, and artistry that went into these structures. I cannot stress enough as to how important a guide, even...More

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city
