This statue of Dante is situated on one of the corners the Santa Croce Church...stand alone it doesnt stand tall amongst the great piece of art which you find in Florence...but can be combined with the visit to Santa Croce museum and the pretty square...More

There is a very nice sculpture of the famous poet Dante in a corner of piazza Santa Croce.. Nice square with lots of cafes And can surf and enjoy the beauty around

As an Italian-American it is scary to realize how much we are not exposed or taught about the greatness of Italy's past. Yes, Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli are well known, but great men like Botticelli and Dante are never discussed and explored like they should.
