Assisi and Cortona Day Trip from Florence

126 reviews
Take a day trip to Assisi and Cortona and discover these charming hilltop towns alongside a guide. Departing from Florence, travel first to Assisi, where you visit the Convent of Santa Chiara, the Basilica of San Francesco, and hear about the life of St. Francis of Assisi. Pause for a peek inside Santa Maria degli Angeli church, believed to be a favorite spot of St. Francis. Then head to Cortona for some time to explore independently before returning to Florence.

This is the place to be and be seen. Children run around playing tag, young people sit on the steps and text, and the old folks sit on the benches and catch up on the days news. Molesini wine shop as well as their little market are located here as well.

Nice gathering place for locals and tourists alike. A few restaurants, gelato shops, artisan shops and the hub of activity. There are other much better piazzas around Italy .

When in Tuscany you must stop in Cortona. It is a wonderful, quaint town that offers so much. Great shops, restaurants, people watching and views. We only went for the day but next time I plan to spend a few days.
