My goodness, what magnificent views from cortona. Absolutely stunning. We parked a bit further down and took the escalators built into the hills which was very helpful.

This is something you just have to see! We were there just before sunset, which adds to the light over the wide valley. From Lago Trasimeno to Monte Amiata and Montepulciano!

Wandering around the City of Cortona - this view from Piazza Garibaldi is wonderful. You can see the Roman Roads (the straight ones!) lead in and out of the hilltop town and the view south towards Lake Trasimeno and Ossia is beautiful. Sunset is magical.
