Angela is an excellent local artisan specializing in several types of print-making. She offers a wonderful and worthwhile two hour workshop appropriate for absolute beginners and professional artists alike. My wife and I left with two prints each and big smiles on our faces. Angela is not only charming and kind but also very generous. We felt welcomed, supported and encouraged the entire time. Our only complaint was that we hadn't more time to spend with Angela! This is an amazing gem of an artshop and workshop experience. If you happen to travel to Siracusa you must visit Ortigia and if in Ortigia we encourage you to stop by Angela's shop, L'Arte per Linciso. We give five out of five stars!!!!!…

We found Angela’s atelier via airbnb and spent a delightful 2 hours learning mono print making and Linotype printing. In addition to selling her own creations, Angela has a teacher’s heart and patience to guide children and novices in the finer points of making prints and linotypes. Impressed our fussy 11yr old and it was an excellent way to spend an afternoon away from the usual touristy paths in Ortegia. …

I was walking along one of the many alleys in Ortigia and my attention was caught by this doorway. I enjoyed walking around the shop and looking at all the art work. I did not speak to the person behind the desk ( the owner and artist, I think) and I did not make any purchases here, but I had a nice time. The artwork was abstract, funky, and a lot of fun. Worth a visit if you enjoy stuff like this.…

Ortigia is itself breath-taking, and this shop stands out from the crowd as a quiet place to browse and find a special piece of Sicilia to take home. Angela Matera's art is distinct, bringing humans, cats and plants (to name but some) to print with sharp lines and bold colours. Funky jewellery and ceramics too! We've bought several over the years. Angela is on hand to talk to you, and share her inspirations, in a very low-key, no pressure way. Go visit! You won't be disappointed! …

Angela's art is accessible, strong and beautiful. Angela was generous with her time and happy to talk about her art and the things that inspire it. We really enjoyed dropping in, bought a beautiful print and got an excellent restaurant recommendation in the process!
