Bear it in mind: this place is unique.
Today we had an amazing and delicious lunch at the “vin de l’assassin”. I already knew that place, we have been there last summer and we had our dinner outside in the patio. Definatelly, we felt in love with that place , atmosphere and food.
Today we ate inside. The new design is very fancy.
First of all, I love the atmosphere, it is a charming place with great attention to details. Food is incredible delicious, and very tasty. Ingredients have high quality. Service has been perfect especially Saro who kindly helped has with our requests.
Ciao Salvo e Stefania from Sicily.

People at the Visitor center next to the big cathedral recommended this place to us when we asked where the locals like to eat. What a find! We were on our way to find it when I spotted a beautiful fun exterior of a business (a free form "rustic vine" of flowers over the door along with rustic hanging flower baskets. As I went to photograph it, I realized it was the restaurant! We were seated in the outdoor area. They have wonderful hand written menus in small books which added to the charm. The waiter was gracious and gave us some suggestions for lunch, which were very good. I had a special Arroncini ball stuffed with tiny mussles and my husband had another special dish which was even better. A wonderful delightful find and highlight of our day on the lovely Ortigia island.

This dinner was fabulous. My sister and I had salmon - excellent, my husband had the sea bass - excellent, and my brother in law had tuna - excellent. The appetizers were also fabulous, as was the Etna wine. It was a perfect meal!

This place is great! We had an outstanding meal this evening and total overall experience. Walked up to the restaurant on a Saturday evening at 8 PM in September and were seated outside straight away.

The appetisers were very tasty. I had the fried tuna and my partner had the 3 Seas. The mains were very well prepared. She had the lasagne and I had the stuffed guinea fowl.

The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive.

2 starters, 2 mains, 4 glasses of wine, 1 bottle of still water, 2 espressos and one dessert for €90. Can’t beat it.

If I am back in Ortigia, I will return.

Recommended by our guide and TA, both spot on. We enjoyed the sea bass and salmon in the courtyard, good service and excellent food and wine.

My wife and I had dinner as part of an Amber Road Tour. The food was so good that we went back the next evening by ourselves. The maitre de recommended several dishes and having had success the evening before followed what he said. The food could not have been better. Dessert tasted better than it looked. Sorry we did not take a picture as it was beautiful. The restaurant is somewhat small and reservations are recommended. There is an open kitchen and we watched as they started preparations for the next evenings meal. Good food and entertainment to boot.

The food was outstanding. We had a plate of lobster salad and vegetables for a light appetizer, then two different main dishes - a delicious steak with gorgonzola sauce and a red tuna tartare. Followed by fantastic desserts - creme brulee whit japanese greenn tea and crispy almond tiramisù. the üwaiter was friendly, helpful and attentive. An absolute wonderful first dinner in Ortegie

Brilliant food. The duck was perfect, the tuna was sublime. We had a fantastic time, especially as the ambiance was lively with still swift and attentive service. Surprisingly affordable, and even with great wine!

Had dinner here one night recently, we say outside in the alley to the side. We shared mussels to start, had seabass and salmon for mains which both come with cous cous. The food was all nice and tasty but there just wasn't enough of it, my husband had seabass numerous times on holidays and always had the whole seabass, here he was given one fillet.
Glasses of wine were 5 euro so steep.
Overall good nice but we left hungry feeling like the restaurant thought more of themselves than they should
