Not worth the entrance fee, we have seen many better for free around the world. Hope the fee goes towards improving the atmosphere. The specimens seem in good condition though.

We stumbled upon the gardens while walking to the waterfront. It’s absolutely stunning to walk around. Can’t recommend enough. Make sure to head to the back to see the King Ficus, it’s like something out of Avatar.

As the Botanical Gardens looks today, it seem they have had better times. The gardens originally looked beautiful, a little gardening and better maintenance would improve their condition and perhaps also will bring back the good days when the care and maintenance were better.

We love visiting gardens so decided to spend some time here and really wished we hadn't bothered. Tickets cost 6 euros each and it really wasn't worth a fraction of that. We found it poorly maintained and not that much to see - maybe better in the spring and summer when more is in flower. Lots of puddles everywhere which are surrounded by mosquitoes so make sure you put plenty of spray on before visiting - we did but still got lots of bites. There are toilet facilities and a small shop but no refreshments are available - there is a small cafe nearby which you can exit to use and come back in again. A couple of nice ponds with seating but not much else - I would suggest that you save your money and visit Villa Giulia next door which is free, well-maintained and is a beautiful place to wander or sit and relax.
