Another beautiful example of the Baroque style, this city is an open air museum and reeds each church is treated as a museum. This church outside is simple but the really interesting part is contained inside where there are works of art really fascinating including beautiful paintings and frescoes. I love to visit the the churches in Italy, I am Roman Catholic and love that I can walk in pay my respects and view works of arts from the Renaissance on the church walls. This church was not a disappointment a tranquil amazing place to spend five minutes in contemplation. The one thing I found disappointing in Palermo was that these churches were charging an entry fee not something I have found in Italy. It was always a pleasure to find the churches open and available unlike England where they are locked up. I always left a donation without being requested too …

This really is a rare gem of a church. The outside is very plain but inside is awesome. The artisan work with mosaic is absolutely exquisite. It is amazing that such intricate work was achieved at that time. There are mosaic works all over Europe but this example is worth seeing and ranks up there with the best. Not that I even to pretend to have seen them all; however, the works in this cathedral are very, very impressive. Don't miss it if you visit Palermo. From the outside, I could not see anything special until I went inside. Speechless! Wonderful interior decoration. Really fantastic! I felt so much admired of its richness and skillfulness. The craftsmanship was in top level. It was worthy at all. Good value and good moment.
