This is one among many historical churches in Catania. Located at the end of main street at main square.

If you are in Catania, this is a must. Honestly, it is not the most impressive Basilica I have seen in Italy, but that doesn't mean it isn't impressive! The open piazza and the elephant fountain all make for great photo ops.

Visited the church today with friends. It is large inside with beautiful paintings and statues too look at. Tourists are not allowed in during the mass but worth the wait.

Not as grand as some cathedrals in italy but still a must for catania. Can still see the parts from the pre-earthquake period. The facade us more impressive than the insude but tgat akso includes the tomb of Bellini

We just visited the cathedral for half an hour. It is more than enough to see everything you need. I just especially wanted to see the tomb of my beloved composer Vincenzo Bellini who was buried here. You can find his tomb at the right...More

The cathedral is pretty spectacular and big. Also the square is very wide and clean. We didn't see inside because it was closed but outside is relly beautiful.

An impressive building from the outside but quite regular from the inside. Worth a look but I would not visit the inside.

Catania presents a rather downtrodden image as you walk in from the port, but things get better once you reach the cathedral. It appears that if you want the view of the city, then it is best to go to the church across the road...More
