The cathedral is pretty spectacular and big. Also the square is very wide and clean. We didn't see inside because it was closed but outside is relly beautiful.

An impressive building from the outside but quite regular from the inside. Worth a look but I would not visit the inside.

Catania presents a rather downtrodden image as you walk in from the port, but things get better once you reach the cathedral. It appears that if you want the view of the city, then it is best to go to the church across the road...More

Very bare interior. Most relics and ornamentation have been taken down, so other than the alter, there was little to see.

Well worth a visit to this large cathedral. There are also thermal baths below for which you have to pay a small fee and an opportunity to climb to the dome and have good views over the city. Beware, the baths and dome are closed...More

You never tire of these magnificent Sicilian Baroque structures and, as frequent in this earthquake zone, the site dates back to an earlier Norman venture. Harmonious design inside and out.

Have been there but - compared to all the other churches in the world - it did not look different to the others. There might be other people who are impressed but I wasn´t.

Visiting Catania means discovering the past and present that cohabit in a unique balance; it is found in people, in food, in monuments, in the atmosphere ❤️
