Sicily’s first nature reserve is extremely important for the abundance of rare and endemic plants, local fauna and the spectacular Uzzo Grotto, one of the first human settlements in the area.

Lo Zingaro occupies a nearly-empty stretch of Sicilian coastline, where spectacular mountainsides meet the sea. You'll get magnificent views along a safe, well-marked (and well-trodden) trail that, while rolling, don't gain much elevation from the sea. Along the trail, a few remnants of the old...More

Breathtaking views as we looked back from the top of the mountain. It was a hard slog but worth all the effort. At the top we found a few surprises including a couple of museums the old farmhouse with the rooms furnished with what looked...More

Spent a morning hiking here. Go early as it gets both hot and crowded. Much of the trail is narrow and on steep hillside. The parking lot (free) is small so arrive early. Nice trails that provide great coastline views. We were hoping to see...More

We used GPS to get to the park from Trapani and since we arrived early, we had a good parking spot. The man at the entrance did not supply a lot of info, funny enough but we did have to check on the map where...More

Found by accident as it is not well publicised this natural park was Sicily’s first national park ( 1982 ) and was saved from developers by aptly named ‘ environ mentalists ‘ in 1980 when efforts to build a road through this wilderness were thwarted....More

Very nice views. The beach was a bit crowded, and there were too many bees. Fun drive to get there though!

What a beautiful place, words of advice, go very early as you will be parking on the road and you may be 2 km from entrance, wear runners, the ground is uneven and there are lots of stones. Make sure you have plenty of water....More

Unbelievable natural park facing the SEA. You can’t miss it if You go to Sicily. In my opinion it is a little better to visit this Reserve from the sea. It is possible to rent a boat or go on a tour of IT. Maxbugatti.

Take your car! Get sun screen! Get enough water and go there! You won’t regret it. After a quick ride from San vito, you arrive with a large parking lot the location you pay your well spent 5€ at the cashier and you enter the...More

Best beaches I have seen. Best sunsets to watch from there. Pleasant stuff that will give you directions the moment you enter. It is terrain walking, so go in shoes.

Bit late to reply apologies. You do have to pay. Unsure of cost to enter. The walk to the beaches depends how fit you are. I'd say I am quite fit and wouldn't describe it as easy but totally doable. Remember, there are a... More
