Piazza del Ferrarese feels more like a hallway to the actual piazza of Bari, Piazza Mercantile. It does have some restaurants and bars, but it seems like they are on the Piazza Mercantile outskirts. It has some ruins in the middle and also had a...More

Located where the old port meets the Theatre Margherita. Seemed to provide a meeting point for many Italians. Has some cafeterias and restaurants and is a good place to people watch or just hang around soaking the local atmosphere. As we visited just after Christmas,...More

When approaching the old town from Corso Cavour, you'll come across Piazza del Ferrarese - nice square with some historic discoveries: old paved road from centuries ago (now fenced but clearly visible). Apart from that the sqaure is nothing extraordinary.

We walked through Piazza del Ferrarese during our trip to Bari in September. So quaint and full of people, both citizens and tourists. I loved the ambiance and the hustle and bustle, but not big-city hustle by any means. Looking forward to returning again!
