If nearby, there is enough of interest here to be worth walking in to explore it. Not worth being a destination IME though.

The church is very simple, nothing very special except the crypte and the beautiful ceiling. Alone for this worthwhile to visit.

The Cathedral of St. Sabinus is Romanesque structure built in the 12th century. Much like the Basilica of St. Nicholas it was redecorated in the Baroque style `and then undecorated in the 20th century. There are still some fragments of frescoes. Underneath the church are...More

Nice Byzantine Cattedrale di San Sabino, built in the late 12 century, a Romanesque style by the Normans and constructed on the ruins of an old Bzantine cathedrale destroyed in the 11 century.

It is worthwhile visiting this cathedral. The entrance is free and it is big enough to spend some time in. There is a crypt as well.

The Cathedral is very plain on the inside but the crypt is worth a view. We went in hoping to see the mosaics mentioned in other reviews, but access must have been closed as we missed them. In the crypt we saw the remains of...More

The real cathedral of Bari has been "forgotten" during centuries because of the celebrity of San Nicola, but it's also an amazing example of romanesque architecture.

Another must see in Bari. Its near to the Basilica San Nicola church. We only saw outside because church was closed at this time. Simple but beautiful church in Bari old town

Large cathedral that looks great on the outside, a little sparse on the inside. The archeological digs under the church are the real star though. You can see remains of at least two previous structures. There are walls from a church dating back to Roman...More
