This Basilica is massive. It is not very colourful, infact it looks quiet bare, but there is something that makes this Basilica look very holy. Then you go to the crypt, and it is completely different, it's very ornate and with a lot of colourful...More

Very striking church with gorgeous architecture. Typical Norman squareness in the bones, but Byzantine and Romanesque adornments throughout. Make sure you see the crypt with St. Nicholas as well.

A must see in Bari - just set up a credible cover story if visiting with little children 😉. Spectacular interiors and the crypt with the remains of the Saint, and the accompanying icon are very evocative.

There is a mystical, holy blessed atmosphere in the St. Nicholas church. With Christmas lights it's even more special. I also recommend everyone to visit the crypt.

We've visited Bari especially for Basilica San Nicola. The church absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The most amazing about this place that you feel the unity of the Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians.

This ranks high on our list of beautiful churches, but the crypt is what sets it apart as a stunning place not to be missed. Take your time to observe and appreciate all the details in both the crypt and main basilica.

This church has a surprising interior, well worth a visit. It is shared by Roman Catholics and Russians. What makes it more interesting is that there are plenty of information plaques for you to read all about its history. These are written in Italian, Russian...More

I have doubts that everything is so simple for you. It is possible to get to the 0 floor simply. But on the -1 floor there are no elevators for sure - helpers are needed.

4 hours is very limited. You could do Alberobello with a car and driver : 1hr to get there, 1hr to walk around, 1hr to get back. Hot work, not sure if it’s worth it, depends what you like. Otherwise 4hrs is great to walk... More
