This was the first statue we saw in Venice after departing from the water bus. Having just arrived from Rome, it was nice to see the link in this monument to Rome in the form of Rome's emblem of the wolf feeding the twins, which...More

The monument was right outside our hotel, Hotel Paganelli. It is grand and impressive. I had no idea who it was until I googled it. It is well done and just in front of the the S. Zaccaria waterbus stop. If you are near there,...More

A long walk along the waterfront avails many visuals, this quite extravagant statue especially. Holding up well considering it's exposure to the elements

The monument was right outside our hotel, really large and impressive, but we really had no idea what it represented. On closer inspection, it was of the first king of the unified Italy, and stands in the middle of this wide promenade on the water...More

A lot of people just walk by it and another group of people do not even know it exists. I like it because of the location. It is definitely worth a photo but do not go out of your way.

You will see this ignored statue as you walk by to board the ferry to Murano. Thousands pass by it and even I didn't notice it till we were returning on the Vaporetto back from Murano.

Walking down Riva Degli Schiavoni we found the monument of Vittorio Emanuel II. It is right on the water front and easy to find. We had a coffee near by before we took a boat ride to Murano & Burano

While on our most recent visit to Venice, we were strolling along the Riva Degli Schiavoni, taking in the waterfront views and enjoying the sights. Eventually, we came upon the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument. This splendid monument is certainly a landmark along this waterfront esplanade....More

Came across this lovely monument while strolling along the waterfront. It's truly impressive. It was a hot day and with the sea breeze just cooling things down it was a welcome relief to sit at it's feel :)

one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
