We found the museum to hold an amazing collection of artifacts but very badly signed unless you speak Italian. Do your homework before you go if you want to make the most of it.

The archeology museum is above the Corner Museum and often overlooked by tourists. It is HUGE and includes everything from armory, ceramics, maps, sculptures, genre paintings, portraits.. the works. Gives a very interesting insight into Venetian history. Worth it if you are going to the...More

The National Museum of Archaeology can be found in St Mark's Square and is integrated within the Museum Correr. The main exhibits are Roman statues and friezes, Greek and Etruscan pottery, coins and some Egyptian items. I found the Roman sculptures breathtaking as I always...More

They have statues from 2500 years ago! The intricate carving of stone back then must have taken forever without the tools we have today. They had several huge globes - the kind in the wooden stand. Some of them are old enough to be completely...More

Odd one this...flows seamlessly from the Museo Correr without much indication that you've technically moved from one to the other! Worth visiting though as exhibits are interesting and well presented. Entry is included with ticket to Museo Correr and 2 other museums.

Nice museum...lots to see....confusing of which msueum you are in at any time, as it is continuous with the Correr Museum, and apparently the Biblioteca Marciana. Very nice displays, great views, from the windows, and even some modern, odd stuff. The museums are continuous, as...More

Found the museum interesting but we were slightly disappointed by the apparent lack of logic in the museum. It's not chronological and sometimes difficult to identify which items are from which era... Also the transition from the Museo Correr is made in a weird way,...More

The ticket for the Doge's Palace will also gain you entry to Museo Correr and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale. No need to do it all in one day as the ticket is valid for 3 months. We visited Museo Correr and without realising it found...More

Got this museum as part of a deal with the Doges palace. You can actually use your ticket for up to 3 months so if you are in Venezia for more than a day, this venue can be a good time slot filler if for...More

Situated within the same building as the Museo Correr but deals with more ancient times, such as Egyptian, Greek & Roman artefacts. Rooms are more modernly decorated in a more traditional museum style. Enough exhibits on show to keep you interested without being crammed and...More
