When you get the bus station, all of sudden you see traffic. Motor traffic. You are away from traditional Venice. This modern bridge which is part glass links the train station to the bus station. When we went you can see commuters mingling with tourists.

I rate this bridge "terrible" not because it is ugly but because the design is terrible for people going down either slope - our disaster happened when we were walking down to the bus area, but I assume it is just as bad the other...More

Worst bridge ever! Be very very careful. My mum broke her foot walking down it as the steps come out of nowhere and look flat and blend in with bridge. Holiday ruined as now need to go for surgery.

This relatively new bridge crosses the Grande Canal and links Piazzale Roma (bus and land taxi station etc) on one side of the Grand Canal with the Railway station area on the other. A modern design, made in part in glass (although with a concrete...More

This is the first major bridge we will come across when you arrive in Venice. Sleek and modern looking, it really is different than all other structures in Venice. A lot of people are against it but it personally like this bridge. I think of...More

The bridge is a sweeping modern design - completely out of character for Venice. But more than that, much of its surface is glass panels that become dangerously slippery when wet.

according to the locals, this bridge never works, as the glass base gets cracked a lot due to people with suitcases going over them and also heavy goods causing the damage. also when it gets wet or cold, it becomes very slippery as I have...More

One of only four bridges that cross the Grand Canal it connects, Piazzle Roma with sestiere Cannaregio near Stazione Santa Lucia. This is a great place to take photos of the Grand Canal and Piazzle Roma.

A pleasure to walk over, a breath of modernism much needed in sometimes stuffy Venice. Lovely at night, beautifully lit !

Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district)
when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring
cars and buses close to the center of Venice.
Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking
Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes
with energy from travelers and students. Historic
palaces and former industrial buildings house some
departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
